Steps to make Irmgards Appeeling Soup:
  1. Add oil to large pan and sauté onion if using and or asafoetida
  2. Add all peels and sauté until soft, keep stirring around to get oil on.
  3. Remove from the heat and cool a little
  4. Add hot water to jug and mix in stock cube
  5. Add stock from step 4 & milk to peels with salt and pepper
  6. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 10 minutes until peels are tender and soft.
  7. Cool the soup the puree with a stick blender then stir in the parsley, add coriander or own spices now to taste
  8. Serve immediately with crispy bacon pieces or on its own, or put in containers, lid and keep in the fridge.
