Hello everybody, it is Drew, welcome to our recipe page. Today, we’re going to prepare a special dish, matoke. It is one of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I am going to make it a bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Matoke (or Matooke) refer to the plantain or plantain banana in Uganda, where plantains are a staple crop. In Uganda, plantain bananas are often wrapped in plantain leaves and steamed until tender. Matoke are shorter than ordinary bananas. They appear to be thick at the midsection due to their Plantains are relatively easy to peel, though, but matoke can't be peeled in the same way as ordinary.

Matoke is one of the most popular of recent trending meals in the world. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. It’s simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. Matoke is something which I have loved my entire life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

To get started with this particular recipe, we have to prepare a few components. You can have matoke using 6 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Matoke:
  1. Get 12 pcs Matoke bananas
  2. Take 6 pcs Irish potatoes
  3. Take 3 pcs Tomatoes
  4. Take Onions 1 big one
  5. Take 3 cloves Garlic
  6. Get piece Turmeric root small

Instructions to make Matoke:
  1. Peel the bananas and potatoes & wash them nicely & put aside
  2. Peel the onion wash and cut into pieces
  3. Peel the garlic and crush it
  4. Wash and cut the tomatoes in small pieces
  5. Put the onions in a sufuria, and small amount of oil.and fry in till translucent
  6. Add the garlic, let it fry for a few minutes, then add the tomatoes & let them simmer
  7. When the tomatoes are well cooked, put the bananas and potatoes into the tomato mixture and stir well un till well combined
  8. Let it simmer as you turn frequently in till well cooked. Put salt to taste..
  9. Serve and enjoy.
