The ingredients needed to make Chawal ke Fare:
  1. Prepare 1 cup Rice (to make fresh flour or take readymade rice flour)
  2. Get 1 tbsp Ghee
  3. Take 1 cup water
  4. Make ready 1/4 Urad dal (soaked for at least 6 hrs or overnight)
  5. Get 1/4 Chana dal (soaked for at least 6 hrs or overnight)
  6. Make ready 1 inch Ginger
  7. Make ready 4-5 Garlic cloves
  8. Prepare 1/2 Green chilli
  9. Prepare to taste Salt

Steps to make Chawal ke Fare:
  1. To make the rice flour, soak the rice for 3-4 hrs. Strain & spread it on a cloth or kitchen towel under fan for 2 hrs. (Do not dry in the sun.) Grind to a fine powder.
  2. For stuffing grind chana dal and urad dal along with green chilies, ginger & garlic to a coarse paste.Transfer the paste to a mixing bowl and add salt. Mix and keep aside.
  3. To prepare the dough, heat water in a pan, add ghee and salt to taste. Once the water comes to a boil, switch off the flame. Add rice flour & keep mixing to make a lump free mixture. Cover and leave for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, mix it with a spatula. Once it cools down a bit, knead for 4-5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide into equal portions. Roll into a small chapati using dry rice flour. Put lentil stuffing & fold it.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the steamer. Place the prepared Fare on a greased plate. Steam for 10-15 minutes each batch. Serve hot with green chutney!
