Matoke is one of the most popular of current trending foods in the world. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. They’re fine and they look wonderful. Matoke is something which I’ve loved my entire life.
Matoke (or Matooke) refer to the plantain or plantain banana in Uganda, where plantains are a staple crop. In Uganda, plantain bananas are often wrapped in plantain leaves and steamed until tender. The ingredients needed to make Matoke:
- Get 6 raw bananas
- Prepare 1 onion
- Prepare 2 cloves garlic
- Take 1 tomato
- Get 2 tbs oil
- Take Pinch tumeric powder
- Make ready to taste Salt

- Add the bananas stir then add 1 cup water
- Cook till they are properly cooked, this will take around 20mins on medium heat
- Serve with any stew of your choice
