  5. Add the sugar to the breadcrumb looking mixture and miss well.
  6. Beat the egg into the cooled syrup.
  7. Make a well in the flour mixture.

  9. Lightly flour the surface and briefly knead the dough.
  10. Once kneaded, add more flour to the work surface and roll out the dough 5mm (1/4in) thick.
