The ingredients needed to make Fried Fish and Fried Tofu:
- Prepare 6 small fish, cleaned
- Make ready 2 big tofus, cut into smaller cubes
- Prepare Marinate:
- Take 3 cm fresh turmeric
- Make ready 4 cloves garlic
- Prepare 2 tsp ground coriander seeds
- Prepare 2 tsp salt or to taste
- Take Water
- Prepare 1 lime juice from 1 lime
- Prepare Oil to deep fry
Instructions to make Fried Fish and Fried Tofu:
- Wash clean all fishes, coat the fishes the lime juice to remove the fishy smell. After few minutes, rinse the fishes and set aside.
- Prepare the marinate for the tofu and fish: pound turmeric, garlic, coriander seed and salt in pestle and mortar. Add a bit of water (1-2 tbsp). Taste and adjust the salt if needed. Divide this marinate into 2 portions. One portion is for the fish, one portion is for the tofu. Photo is taken from internet
- For the fish: no need to add more water. Spread this marinate to all fishes’ surface and leave it in the fridge for few hours.
- For the tofu: add the water until cube tofus are submerged in the marinate water. You may need to add more salt as it wont be salty once you add more water
