- Heat ghee in deep bottom vessel
- Add grated lauki and mix well
- Saute Lauki for 3-4 minutes
- Add milk and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes
- Add sugar and mix well. Cook for 4-5 minutes
- Add food colouring and mix well. This is optional. This gives beautiful green colour to Laddu
- Add cardamom and mix well. Cook until mixture becomes dry
- Allow mixture to cool completely
- Add nuts to mixture
- Add desiccated Coconut 2-3 tbsp at a time and mix well. Do not add 3/4 cup in single go. Add as required
- Grease palms and shape mixture into Laddos. Roll over desiccated Coconut, this is optional but it gives beautiful look and additional taste to Ladoos. Serve cold
